According to Carl Jung; he believed that symbolism in dreams is caused by a conflict of the conscious and unconscious mind... so the unconscious mind is trying to tell the conscious mind something. For example if you smoked cigarettes you might worry about what it does to your health, but you might consciously suppress this, so you can enjoy smoking, ... but the unconscious mind still has to worry about it. But if you didn't smoke it could be something entirely different like spending more money than you have and then suppressing that fear, the more and longer you suppress it, the harder it is to undo.
Teeth falling out is a common dream, but I wouldn't try to find a specific meaning to it, but I'd just take it that something in life isn't quite balanced and that you need to take a step back, take stock of things. the fear of getting older, is based around a fear of impermanence and that you need to cultivate acceptance of what's in your life rather than trying to resist change. Or not....Sunday, February 21, 2010
